Hi Guys
I am at the planning stage -
What is the consensus on the width of platforms for OO gauge

How wide do they need to be in their variuos forms :
Single sided with Shelter
Single sided without shelter or Buildings

Island Platforms with and without buildings

main platform for country stations and of course terminal platforms

all help appreciated

Thanks

Hi zep75
I allways use the "00" standard of between 65 & 112mm.
64mm is quite narrow as in the real thing its some 16 feet wide while 112 is approx. 28 feet which is quite large.
I try and aim (not always possible though) for 90mm wide platforms = 21 feet in the real thing.

This question was asked and completely answered in a thread less than a month ago. I used the "Search" option to find it, so here's a link to save you the bother - this time

>Thanks - i searched but that thread did not come up
Oh well, maybe _this_ thread will come up in the next search and then the link will point to the real information - platform width height rail distance measurement recommended...

Dear Keith,
Did you try left-clicking on the link David (dwb) provided in his post #3? I tried it and it took me straight to the topic he was talking about.

It is 'Rail to platform measurement' and is currently about halfway down the second page of the '00 Scale/HO Scale' forum.

Regards,
John Webb
