According to Simon Kohler "a certain amount of mass hysteria has taken over " concerning the T9. The fault you have is part of this.

The fault has been described as follows: "the source of the problem to the front bogie fixing spigot that had not been pushed home enough resulting in the locomotive not resting with the full weight on the drive wheels" You can fix this by filing down the spigot. Personally I would not attempt this on a brand new model but follow Simons other advice "if there are any T9 owners out there who have a model that can only pull one or two coaches they can certainly return the model to the retailer from where they purchased it, a Service Dealer or direct to Hornby for rectification"
