When did BR abandon black and begin to use olive green for dogfish? Or were dogfish never painted black?

Olive green came in with the other changes to wagon liveries in early 1963; this is the time that the beginning of 'boxed' lettering started (later to become 'TOPS' panels), Ice blue in place of white and the introduction of the short-lived Rail freight 'box' logo (and yellow on BR road vehicles). For a short time before (1960-62, I believe) some PW wagons were painted in Gulf Red, but this didn't last long enough to become widespread. The olive then remained until progressivly replaced by the grey/yellow in the 1980s.
