QUOTE to do this but how do you quote a few lines instead of the whole reply from someone elses post?
Like that? I copy and paste and then use the Quote button above this edit box (I'm in full edit mode) which inserts the start and end quote tags and I then paste what I copied between. I must learn the syntax for adding the original poster's name.
Alternatively you can click on the + Quote button so it shows - Quote and then click 'Add Reply'. The whole of the chosen post, including the poster's name, appears between the 'quote' and '/quote' markers. You can then delete the unwanted part(s) of the selected post. David's way is quicker for a short quote, my way is quicker for quoting most of a post.
QUOTE (GreenBoy)i dont know how to get the original posters name added to it...
I've had a look at how Quote works and it really is easy for whole post quoting. You can get the effect above by adding the text name='GreenBoy' after quote in the first tag. It doesn't need to be in bold, that's just to identify the text string. Putting it in double quotes would have been too confusing.
