Have been having a play around with Rails new website this morning and the search feature isn't too great.

E.G. of you want to search for something by Bachmann then you get every product they make and can only narrow it down by scale.

Even the search feature is a bit broad. I put in Bachmann Class 66 and it came up with 3111 results.

Maybe the old one was better?

It is amazing how much fine tuning a good website needs. It's only once you launch it that you discover all the bugs - customers can break a web site in a thousand and one novel ways!

They should have user-tested a test version of the site before launching it. It's what we do at work. Our sites provide guidance for call centre operators and it would be no good publishing something that didn't work - more unhappy callers and increased call handling times - we'd be in big trouble.

Have to say that whtever else you think of them Hattons has the best website and other retailers would do well to imitate them.
