I know from on here that the London UndergrounD has a following, so channel 5's offering on Friday 13/07/2012 from 19:00 to 20:00 "Building the London Underground" will no doubt appeal. There are also references to the New York City Subway and the Paris Metro.

Look out for 'Ian Hislop Goes Off the Rails - The story behind the 1963 Beeching Report' BBC4 Wednesday 08/08/2012 from 20:00 to 21:00. Looks like another excuse to visit the Barry Scrapyard.

It's a rarity for me to watch television, but I shall make an effort to watch that.
Thank's for the information.

There is a programme "How Britain Worked" coming up on Sun 21/10/2012 from 20:00 to 21:00 on Channel 4
The summary reads:
"Engineering enthusiast Guy Martin ....... begins by overhauling a steam locomotive currently in use on the Severn Valley Railway, repairing its boiler, safety valves and one of its two-ton wheels. He also lays some track using the same methods as the notorious `navvies' - the notorious, hard-living labourers who laid Britain's entire railway infrastructure by hand.".
This is part 1 of a series of 6 programmes.

The GCR was on channel 4 a couple of nights ago in Heston Blumintal's lastest mad programe with the Red 8 and some interesting coaches, can be found on the iplayer or endlessly repeated on one of their other channels

Looking at it, I would guess it was filmed in July as I did spy in one of the shot thourgh a window a class 70 in frieghtliner livery, which if memory serves was at the GC testing at that time
