Hi All,
I have bought some NEODYMIUM / NdFeB rare earth magnets 10mm X 3mm for potential use under the track for my microtrains couplings and have been thinking could they affect the loco motor magnets in any way in operation or other items on the layout ?

I doubt it.

You'll find neodymium magnets under slotcars to keep them on the track. The slotcar motor is permanently placed only a few cm away and the neo-magnets don't seem to alter their behaviour.

Thanks Doug glad they wont affect the locos as Zmil says if they could be used as replacement magnets then it will work, i'll try them and let you know how they go as an option to the uncoupling ones i use now.
