QUOTE (Asterix @ 4 Nov 2007, 10:54) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I found the term BR gulf red in the Graham Farish catalogue. I assume than that it's another term for bauxite.

So, next question: What is fitted and unfitted stock? I notice that there are guards vans in both bauxite and grey.

'Fitted' with vacuum/or air brakes. Yes it was grey for 'unfitted'.There most certainly had to be a brake van with 'unfitted'.It wasn't until they changed the 'manning' rules that there had to be a brake with 'fitted'.Then there was 'part fitted' (25%, 50%, so on) then it gets complicated.
