I have quite a bit of stuff coming so rather than post in New Locos / Rolling stock etc have started this thread. Much is being funded a steady sell-off of my analogue UK stock
Many Thanks Brian.
I have 1 Piko loco - a Taurus Limited Edition from Porsche. I will have a look at the coach rolling stock now as well
I noted the Roco 1:100 and ironically thought the same thing as y comment ie re looks and curves. I may get a couple to try as they are considerably lower cost.
QUOTE (Brian Considine @ 6 Apr 2013, 18:09) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>The 1:100 scale refers to the length of the coach - in all others aspects they are 1:87.
The 1:100 can look better on tight curves than the 1:87 ones, but it's really down to personal preference.
As regards Fleischmann or Roco, that depends on when the items were made - early Fleischmann was very robust & would keep going with very little attention. Early Roco was nearly as good but had the edge on running.
Over the years, they have got more even & now, of couse they are owned by the same company & the "individuallities" getting more or more erroded.
If you are looking towards Europe check out current Piko - stands well against Fleischmann & Roco & far less money (beware of the older "Eastern Germany" Piko though.
