Repairing MAIN LINE WARSHIP

I have a MAIN LINE WARSHIP . Has been stored for a long time with little use. When I started to run it, it went ok in one direction but in other direction it stuttered and made a clunking noise. It got gradually worse and has now stopped and fails to run. Lights in cab still work in both directions. Has anyone any idea what may be wrong? Could the motor need re-magnetising?many thanks

Hi
I also had a Mainline Warship and they are not the best runners, However i did experience a similar problem with mine and it turned out to be the plastic gears and i also replaced the brushes and checked the springs were good. I have to say though mate it never ran all that great. One idea might be to buy a Bachmann Warship as they run superb (and probably wouldn't be too expensive on ebay).

I do hope this helps and if you want any more help just ask!

Kind Regards

Paul
