For discussion of your current HO Scale layout the "HO & International" forum is more likely to generate responses.

From my experience, posts/topics containing photos always prove popular.

I think maybe the solution for you would be to post in "On my layout". Start with photos of the HO model and talk about your OO plans and readers of all persuasions will take a look and then decide. Topics with photos always attract interest regardless of the subject matter.
