Hi

I've just joined this forum, as I was feeling the need for a fresh place to talk modelling. I'll get on to posting some of the bits and pieces I am up to at some point today. I may even take a few pics of the current state of my layout.

I have a dreadfully long list of things I am working on and tend to skip between them depending on my mood!

Modelling in 00, using peco code 75 with electrofrog points, I am building a Southern Electric Layout based on Ramsgate on one side and Folkestone West on the other side of my garage. I use Digitrax DCC control and am in the process of installing detection and signal decoders... as well as many other things.

Cheers
Michael

Hi Mumbles,

Welcome to the Forum. I think I can safely predict a warm reception of your layout from the Kent contingent on the Forum

Hi Michael and welcome to the MRF.

Not a SR man myself and not even modelling in 00 but still look forward to seeing some pics of your layout.

Seeing what others are doing can often be a source of inspiration for ones own layout.

You'll find plenty of experienced modellers here who are more than happy to pass on the benefits of their experience.

Hi Michael, Good to have you on board, You will find that there are many of us who are more than willing to help you in any way that we can.
Although i do not model in SR (although i do own a Shcools class loco and an Air smoothed pacific) i will be interested to see any progress on your layout.
Please post some pictures of your layout.

Kind regards
Paul

Hi Michael and welcome to MRF, we seem to be a pretty friendly bunch and I admire your bravery in tackling Ramsgate The site of many hours "spotting" in my mis-spent youth!

I am currently, when time permits, working on a layout based on the old Margate Sands branch but with a large dollop of modellers licence.

I think that's a fair assessment David

Now I can't argue with that.
