I am fully in agreement with Makemineadouble, I find that the running is better through pointwork as you get an even pull down the centre line of the vehicle. Also you get the benefit of delayed uncoupling, stationary uncoupling over solenoids and ease of crane shunting in the fiddle yard.
They are almost the same as Hornby Dublo couplings, I have nearly gone full circle in 40 years.
For long rakes of wagons on through trains, I use three link types, and the appearance is much better.
