Recently took a new set of pics of my 'HO' scale Light Rail layout 'Route's End 2'. For those of you who are not familiar with it, it is a Single Line Terminus served by two Mehano Boeing LRVs (Light Rail Vehicles) in Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) and San Francisco Municipal Railway (MUNI) liveries that shuttle between the terminus and two stabling sidings.
Despite the American vehicles, this 3ft 6ins x 7ins layout is 'stateless' for it could be anywhere in the English-speaking world - showing how generic modern light rail systems are.
MBTA Boeing car at the terminus which is made from a Knightwing fuelling point platform, Faller bus/tram stop, Ratio streetlamps, Veissmann catenary and Metcalfe paving.
MUNI Boeing car entering front stabling siding and passing the trap siding which is used to prevent the point and terminus from runaway vehicles.
Both Boeing cars by the walkboards in the stabling sidings.
Both cars by the stops in the stabling sidings.
This layout will be making its public debut in this rebuilt form at the Norwich Railway Historical & Model Society exhibition on 29 March.
