If you are in St Petersburg, Russia, there is a lovely model railway museum there. It is straight out of the Soviet era - pictures of Lenin everywhere, ancient babushki who collect your entrance money and so on - but there is lots of good stuff there including some amazing model bridges, lovely cutaway locos and dome-observation cars, lots of failrly incomprehensible stuff about the BAM and a working (ish) layout. And everyone's very friendly and surprised to see you. Anyone else been there?
