QUOTE (PaulRhB @ 3 Mar 2008, 16:44) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Yeovil is part of the Southern region now so it's sort of justice for the Western region lifting all our double track on the West of England!

Southern Signalman!

To misuse a quote from I know not where - The South will rise again!

Mind you some of the Ramsgate - Charing Cross line via Ashford is still semaphores. Javelin by Semaphore anyone?

QUOTE (cig1705 @ 3 Mar 2008, 19:40) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I believe that there's still some semaphores around Deal but if you're thinking of Ramsgate-Canterbury West-Ashford, the last semaphore signals there went in 2004 (sadly). Canterbury East still has a fine SE&CR signalbox and semaphores, though!

Just goes to show how observant I'm not - I didn't notice the change. mind you Sturry still has a rather pretty crossing box. (which if you create a mirror image looks remarkably like one of the Skaledale ones)

Regards
