Hi John & Everyone Things have certainly Improved at Marklin/Trix since the Family Rebought the Business, Whoever the other bunch was they made a mess of it. Babs
Good Evening Everyone, I have the Trix Sets They are sooooooo Lovely But i have not run them Yet, They were bought for me as a present. Have A Great Weekend Babs
Thanks for the comments everyone.
I have certainly been impressed with the Trix purchases, the weight and quality of that loco is very good, sounds great and I liked the fact that the smoke generator has its own function on/off ,
(don't know if that is the norm) I know some members don't like smoke so much and its nice to be able to turn it off, I have always been a devotee of Fleischmann (and if they had an Orient Express set I would
probably have gone with that, but could not find one), but the few Fleischmann locos I have with smoke added, it has to be turned on and off with the lights
The coaches are impressive as well and once I get some passengers in them, will look even better.
Hi redo, thanks for the nod, but I am already aware of that set and Pierre Dominique has it much cheaper, so I may be tempted, even though their shipping process was a bit of a let down, I got the 24795 set
eventually
The 22183 BR 18.1 came from A & H , it was the last one he had, and they seem to be rarer than rocking horse poo at the moment

I don't think that that is the case. Simba Dickie now owns the Marklin, Trix and LGB brands. They took over in 2013/2014, I think.
Yes - I am finding you have to get in quick with some of these nice packs - word travels fast in Conti railway modeling it seems! I seem to fall between two posts now, either get in early with a reservation of wait months for the item I am looking for appear on the Bay; which is exactly what happened last week with the missing ACME Konigsee pack and Marklin Rheingold set I was looking for. Like buses...nothing for ages then two come along together...I think the sellers know it's Xmas...

Yes - I know of them from my model car interest; they own Schuco as per your link. I didn't know they owned Tamiya though - what a mismatch that is IMHO...
Good Morning Everyone, Arriving today Roco Br218 DC & Br210 DCC Sound. These are just for General Hauling Namely CMX Track Cleaning Duties They were Very Cheap in my opinion FRom MSL. Babs
Hi Babs,
They look a fine pair to me!
I have a similar 218 (218 252-8) by Roco and it really is a superb model. My mate who knows about these things, says it is every bit as good as the ESU version - praise indeed! I like sound but I don't like smoke so, yeah! Stick with Roco!
Wasn't the 210, the gas turbine version?
Cheers,
John.
Hi John & Reddo, I do prefer the 218 I actually wanted 2 of them but sold out. So I thought the Next best thing was the 210 and for an Extra 60 euro's for sound I thought was a Good deal. Yes I believe that it is the Gas Turbine Version. I wonder what the Start procedure was I bet it was not Like the Gas Turbines i used to Start nearly everyday Except day's off & Holiday's Maybe Similar. I do prefer the DB Darker Maroon
for some reason. Anyway safely stowed away in the Layout room/Loft. I will be putting the Gaugemaster Omni Decoder in the 218 8 pin. I really do like Roco Better than Fleischmann now. I for me think that Fleischmann has lost it's Shine or Edge. IMHO
Anyway Have a Merry Christmas to you all And A Happy New Year. Babs.
Both are fine models and I like the BR 218 a lot, I need 2 of them. I saw a pair with faded, pealing paint sitting at the Nuremberg station in October and they still looked great.
Hello, I'm kind of excited and super stoked about my recent purchase. This last weekend I was bidding on some Fleischmann cars which I ended up winning so to fill the box I added some more cars and an analog diesel loco from Roco. The next day after I paid, I recieved an email saying that the loco I chose is no longer available so I went looking for a replacement and found an SBB InterregioCargo Re 4/4 II AC Digital w/sound for less than the analog diesel. I've had my eye on this locomotive since it came out but didn't want to pay the full asking price. This must be my best deal of the year.

Thanks Reddo, the detail does look really good with the PE wipers and such and it is Ep VI. I'm not that big into freight trains but I found a couple of pics of this loco pulling an EC passenger train so that sealed the deal.

Thanks Babs, I think the rich orange color will stand out in the mostly red sea of modern electrics.
