Hi all,
Recently taken delivery of these...

Roco 64187 set of 4 DB Touropa's

They are eagerly awaiting (as am I
) the arrival of a Roco 72271 class 85 007 to haul them around the layout.
This loco is listed as having "Dynamic Smoke", so can't wait to see it in action.
Regards
Alan

Hi Alan,
Beautiful coaches buddy! I am interested to see your class 85 too!
A friend of mine had one on order but has since cancelled it so I've no chance of seeing one in the metal as it were.
Cheers,
John.

Thanks for your comments John, as Babz says, the BR85 is a way off yet, I have it on reserve at MSL and they state delivery as week 27, but as soon as I get it I will upload a video of her in action.

Hello gang,
The Touropa coaches are indeed very nice, may consider getting them myself - Alanoes, I can't quite make out the dates under the door on the close-up, could you confirm them for me please ?
Now if you want a primer as to what goes with them, I suggest you look at the wonderful thread by our fellow member 'adecoaches' on the Railways of Germany Forum.....
http://germanrail.fr.yuku.com/topic/4016/M...=1#.WLY0PU27qUk
Here you will find exact compositions of trains consisting wholly or partially of Touropa wagons.
Of course, these trains ran on main lines, so you can use any mainline motive power appropriate for your time period or location. For example, these coaches are based in Hamburg* and are obviously for taking people to other places for their holidays and they will use mainlines to get there. It is the other places that make the trains so interesting, as when they leave the mainlines, they travel on secondary or branchlines to their destinations.
Read the whole thread and you will see what I mean. Especially down South, heading for the Black Forest or Bavarian mountains, they would likely be steam hauled at their final location.
You could even put a restaurant car in the middle of the formation pictured and it would also be 'correct'.
It would also be good, Alanoes, if you could apply the detailing bits to the coaches, e.g. the grab rails at the doors, so we don't have to look at the holes !!
Brilliant set of wagons.

*On my trip last year I had some interesting experiences. Travelling back from Westerland to Hamburg I sat with a couple of jovial Bavarian ladies who were connecting with an overnight train from Altona to Munich, they needed to be back at work the next day! But it struck me as really strange, the Bavarians head North to the Nordseekuste for their holidays, while all the people in Hamburg and the North head down to the Bavarian Alps or Black Forest !!! Go figure.

V nice - they look much better in your pictures as a rake than on the MSL website. Was considering them also. I thin the BR85 is like Xmas - it will be here eventually. At least it has given us a long time to save up and prepare for the financial hit.

BTW - all my 'watched threads' have broken - anyone else had the same problem. Is there a universal fix or do I have to re-subscribe to every one Sorry for the OT message

Hi All,
While I agree completely with Babz's comments about the 2012 Trix Br 85 model (22817) : the pancake motor, the cab full of capacitors, the unpainted axle ends, the massive flanges, the coffee grinding noise etc nevertheless, it is still a massive and impressive piece of kit, for sure....
It runs really well too - and would pull down a retaining wall if required.

Really looking forward to the Roco model, the video is awesome....

PS You could also use a Br 82 on the Touropa set - providing it was 82 040 or 82 041 - they were based on the Murgtalbahn for duty between Schoenmuenzach and Freudenstadt.
Br 50 also noted on trains near their destinations, and other classes too..

That's interesting. I didn't get email notifications for some reported posts recently. Your post suggests there is a wider problem not related to one email address.

Hi 6991 Yes it is a Shame that the Trix in my View Design wise inside is a mess I get the Feeling there is not enough Weight at the Front End or am i wrong. I have not had mine out for a while in the Final stages of finnishing the baseboards. Do you think with all the Whirring and noise inside is it worthy of a Sound Decoder to be fitted. Babs
