I used to see these CD (CNL) sleepers on the Prague - Dresden - Zurich overnight trains until last year but I think those have now been rerouted through Linz earlier this year. I collect these as well in HO, I'm at 5 out of the 11 released so far. Kromeriz should be coming out later this year as part of a 3-car set including a dining car. The quality is outstanding.

I've gone through one large jar of C&L ballast already. I guess I have about 10ft of double track done.

That's a lot of work but I bet it's something you will appreciate and be proud of when it's done. I never got past the plywood stage.

QUOTE (dwb @ 1 Aug 2017, 15:21) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>New arrivals...

The loco showcase was stuffed with DC/DCC OBB outline electrics. I chose this Roco sound fitted 1116 because it carries the RailCargo Austria logo; being on special offer also helped

Well, it took me long enough. Since you'd posted these pics I've been going back and forth between this loco and the new OBB NightJet, they're both great looking models. After realizing that my rolling stock consists mostly of passenger cars, I ended up ordering the NightJet loco last night but the RailCargo is still on the radar. Now I need some repainted NightJet sleepers. Also, I'm going to be in Innsbruck next month and I'm really hoping to catch sight of the NJ train there.

Thanks for the tips, gentlemen. The train store and the coffee shop (with cakes) sound great, just the kind of places I look for when I'm traveling. I checked out the train store's website and they have a lot of stuff that I like... that could get expensive.

Hi David, the Brenner Taurus looks and sounds great, I wonder if my recently purchased NightJet Taurus has the same sound. I should really take it out of the box and run it.

Hi reddo, the BR 112 is a great elok but from the pic I can't tell whether it's red or blue. Piko's been coming on strong lately with new locos like the BR 143 which some say is better then Roco's.

Hi reddo, that's an excellent choice and a great loco to have. I've been checking out the Marklin version of it. Both the Vectron and Traxx locos can be ordered with the "last mile" (diesel engine - traction battery combo) feature for crossing non-electrified sections of track or border/yard shunting with enough fuel to last 8 hours. This is sort of related but I hope that Roco or Marklin make the SBB Cargo Vectrons as they're wrapped in a very flashy livery. I wish you the best of luck finding another job. I know how it feels, my wife has been riding the crude oil roller coaster for the last 2 years after working for the same company for many years.

It's the ACME 3 car set of the Innsbruck - Bozen REX service. The carriages are all Bmz. The 'special' bit is the local markings - 'VVT', 'SAD' and one other.

Hi David, what can I say, the cars and the loco are spectacular. I just wish that one of the better OBB 1116 manufacturers (NOT PIKO!) would release a standard non-camera digital AC loco again.

That's a really nice model but it is just a bit too old as I try to collect locos that are still in service today. Why couldn't they make the 1144 instead?
If I remember right, you had recently purchased a Piko elok, any thoughts regarding its operation and appearance from up close? A few months back, I was looking at the CD Cargo Vectrons from Piko, with the misspelled wording on the side, and Roco. I ended up buying them both and in hand, I actually prefer the Piko version. Neither is 100% accurate but the Piko Vectron just looks better.

QUOTE (reddo @ 2 Mar 2018, 00:57) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>They are all sitting in boxes waiting for me to finish the new extension Panto. I am seriously considering this Rh1044 from MSL with my members discount and little bit of accrued credit brings it down to a competitive price.
The one in the "Rail Cargo Austria" livery looks really sharp but the reason I'm looking for the 1144 is that it has the most recent livery with OBB on its side.
