QUOTE (reddo @ 21 Apr 2018, 00:22) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Pantograph & Babz - I guess you already saw this has just been announced (due wk50/2108) https://www.modellbahnshop-lippe.com/produk...in_produkt.html
Hi Reddo, thanks for posting that. I was looking at that yesterday wondering whether 193 469 "Simplon" is the one they're actually going to make. I would prefer some of the other names like Basel, Brig or Gottardo but I guess I'll have to get whatever they come up with. Another one that will be joining my Vectron fleet (of 6 so far) is this one...

Those LS Models OBB couchettes appear to be really nicely detailed and finished for their size. I like anything OBB so those freight cars would look great in my display case as well and the Fleischmann ICE set is very tempting. I have recently purchased two of Piko's ICE 3 sets and Rivarossi's ICE T set to go with my Marklin ICE 2 so the ICE 1 would fit right in.

MAGNIFICENT is the only way to describe the Trix Rhinegold set. The detail on those coaches is second to none and the color scheme of the era looks fantastic.

As far as the Jagerndorfer CityShuttle coaches go, I don't think many of those highlighted problems would be too noticeable on an N scale model without magnification but that's not to say that there's no room for improvement. Overall, they are very nice models that would look great behind the class 1144 eloc.

I will be having fun in the meantime mixing things up with the City Shuttles released along with my Modellbahn Union Gabs cycle vans. See this link to a Youtube video of what rakes can be achieved.

Cheers
Hi Andrian, thanks for the link. There are some interesting consists running around Austria that I have never seen, like combining the Dostos with regular driving trailers and multiple bike vans. I have the Roco OBB CityShuttle Dosto set so now I need the rest of it but I don't remember seeing the bike vans in HO.

Thanks for the vid, Alan, the set is a thing of beauty and it almost makes me want to buy my first steam loco with sound.

QUOTE (TheAndrian @ 19 Aug 2018, 07:14) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hi Pantograpf,

Roco released in the past two cycle Gabs in HO: 66905 (worte mark - "rolf rudiger type?" livery) & 66801 (pflatsch - blue livery), I think there is another worte mark Gabs but with an advertised type picture on the doors which can be seen in the video I'd linked made in HO.

Cheers
Hi Andrian, thanks for the very useful info, now I need to find 2 or 3 of those Roco 66905 wagons. After having a look around, that might be a challenge.

Hi David, those are some excellent "Brenner" themed additions. I got to see the Paneuropa trailers at Brenner 2 months ago and the Leonardo loco at Innsbruck Hbf as well. I didn't see the BR 151 but there were some Lokomotion Vectrons running around so that's what I bought. I did see that small maintenance crane in action on friend's layout and it's quite impressive, I might get the Marklin version of it which is identical other than the power source.

This is a model of the VT 18.16, known in Era IV as BR 175. The prestige train of the East German Deutsche Reichsbahn in the 1960s and 1970s, which was used for high-profile international routes such as Berlin - Prague - Vienna and Berlin - Malmö. It was capable of reaching a top speed of 160km/h.

That's a fantastic set, congrats. I had it in my hands last year but I figured I could get 3 Vectrons for the same price so I didn't buy it. Now I'm thinking that maybe I should have. When I was a kid I always dragged my parents to the station to watch this thing come and go as it ran as the famous Vindobona. Coincidentally, today I rode the current Vindobona (CD RailJet) to Prague.

QUOTE (Alex Hempel @ 18 Oct 2020, 22:42) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>There's a volunteer-driven project in Germany trying to restore one of the remaining trainsets to running condition. Perhaps on a future Germany visit I might be able to ride on it.
I think it's a great idea by the SVT Görlitz group to restore the train and stretch it to a 6-car train, I hope they can raise the funds for the project. One of the SVT 137 units similar to the 3-car trains that operated on the Vindobona run in the '60's is on display at Leipzig Hbf, I remember seeing that one quite often when I was much younger as well.

I've seen 3 of these big tea kettles including the BR01 in action last month in Dresden and they hardly made any sound when coasting. What I didn't hear in the video was the sound of squealing brakes when the loco was coming to a full stop.

. Agree its not cheap but its a one off and has the elongated cabs and full DCC Sound Trix 25050 - German Electric Locomotive Class 103.1 of the DB AG (DCC SOund Decoder)
One of my top 5 electric locos of all time, it's too bad they didn't run long enough to actually wear this paint scheme but the 103 sure looks good in it. For that price it should have the DCC controlled pantos as well but that function is not on the list.

I'm looking for the Rivarossi BR103 with a single row of louvers. I found a used one and it ran like a tractor, I'm not sure if they're all like that.

Meanwhile, this arrived yesterday, very nice artwork. As more and more locos seem to be turning to Plux decoders, I am building up a list for a bulk purchase

That's very nice and I would have probably bought it by now as well if I didn't already have the "Connecting Europe" MRCE Vectron - Roco 73987 MRCE BR193 875 2 Siemens Mobility Vectron Electric Locomotive (carsandtrains.com) . I might still get it though...

Back in the day, these locomotives were everywhere. I remember seeing them in Dresden (DR) and Decin (CSD). That's a great looking model, I wouldn't mind finding one in the dark red/white stripe DR livery.

A Sud Express Premium Series model of the Br.159 Euro Dual in Erfurter Bahn Service livery was delivered to me from MSL a few days ago. I am very impressed with the amount of detail and the smooth operation of this new locomotive.
That's a great looking model and I'm glad to read that it's a smooth runner. I've been looking at these Euro Duals since they came out but since I don't have any experience with Sud Express and I can't decide on a livery, I've been holding back. I might go for the plain red DB Cargo one to go with the rest of the "Red" fleet.

I wouldn't put off a purchase decision for too long. Many of these models were available only on a reservation basis, but HVLE seems to be the most numerous out in the wild. Maybe because they were the first to buy these. ??? No telling if they will produce a third run if the second sells out.
Thanks for the info, now I'm really looking forward to owning this loco. I've just pre-ordered the DB Cargo "I'm European" w/sound version from MSL even though, so far, I've only seen the Vectron with this livery in 1/1.
