Very nice (were they on special price somewhere?) - you can always see the extra effort Brawa makes in the detail IMO

The Maggi soup tank wagon makes me feel quite queasy at the thought of the contents :)

Cheers

Hello,
that would be Shado (Spelled in the Gerry and Sylvia Anderson format).
If you're familiar with the previous version, that one was Krif (Spelled in the Arthur C. Clarke format).

She's a rescue dog! You'll love her.

Hello,

No, these were my planned purchases for 2015, so retail for me this time. Most were on pre-order since the new items brochure came out last February. I went for quality, not quantity this year.

Chicken's noodle for the soup.

The Brawa website has the mailing list setup now for the 2016 new items brochure.
They mail it (in the post and everything) to you FOC.

Adrian,
I grew up with boxer dogs, they are utterly brilliant.
This is not exactly a new purchase, but it is very nice. It is the Trix Telegraphentransport set (cat 24041).

and when you put it in a train it looks like this - stakes in. Need to stain the frame holding the cable drums though, and also the telegraph poles themselves..

It is marked up for the 1954/55 era, epoche IIIa, so just right for my interests. The load for this Trix set was contract manufactured by a company called Heico, which I think ended up under some kind of Hornby control and therefore swept under the carpet.

That is so nice - notably the bitumen treatment on the poles. I like your dio setting with the background when taking pictures.

A quick look on ebay.de sees 2x of them; if the pack had included the works (green) wagon), it would have been slightly better VFM IMO
Hi Reddo,
The green addition is just a Fleischmann Bavarian origin Packwagen (cat 5090-02), also dated for Epoche IIIa, I put this in to make the formation more prototypical, because it could obviously double as a 'Mannschaftswagen'.
Glad you like it, with the stakes in, it looks the bizzo. I paid 56Euro for it, new.
The background scenery here is the Vollmer 'Schongau' set, cat 6110.
I'm not really anal or anything, but in the scene below, 98 810 was/is a Bw Schongau (BD Augsburg) based loco (Fleischmann cat 409803)!!
The Packwagen is also BD Augsburg AU 116 659
Happy New Year, mate.

V good - can empathise ie when a nice symmetry comes together like that.

I picked up one of the the Vollmer backgrounds also recently in a local model shop (felt I had to buy something out of courtesy). They also had a super Bavarian Maypole kit with etchings and banners (Preiser?)

At 56 euros it is a FAR better proposition...

Hello,

The Boxer one was rescued from the pound at 6yrs. I wanted an older one as I don't have the time or the physical energy for a puppy version.

Back on topic (I think...) I have the matrix Era II version of this. But I think the crane workings are messed up with a part missing. I have the FLM Bayern maintenance set also. I don't have a BR98; I have a T8/BR89. But yes, some of the small 'theme packs' with a unique freight load are always interesting.

Adrian - do you have an FLM code for that Bayern Maintenance set?

Not a new purchase, but a revival from my toy box. I played with this BB66150 made by Jouef 30 years ago. I have been in my toy box in my parent home ever since. I found it again while visiting my parent in France this Xmas.
The loco is running as good as 30 years ago. The wagon are also made by Jouef. The red one has a system to clean the track. It never worked very well.

Same as above, in the toy box for 30 years.
It is from a Lima box set. I still have the oval track and transformer, but transformer is playing up.
It works fine on my home made DC controller, but a bit slow. could it be that Lima require higher voltage (more than 12V)?

Nice one Cyril... That first TGV colour scheme and power car design are still the best looking in my opinion.
Cheers

Agree with you. The TGV Sud Est is also very special to me. I grew up in Dijon and would see them almost every day on my way to school.

Here is a photo of Dijon's platforms from early 80s with my two favorite trains:

My first train ride was in a red Micheline to visit my uncle and my first visit to Paris was with a TGV like this one.
My house was very close to the big black and white building and I had to cross a railway bridge to go to school where i would watch the trains passing.
This bridge:

The best, my kids (6 and 8) love going to Dijon's station to watch the trains :)

Very nice pics and notes. This goes some way to explain why I see the one on the autoroute bridge every time I drive down from Munich to SW France. Cheers
Hello,

My allocation of the Trix Bavarian coaches arrived today.
Here's how they will be used (I'm sure that you've seen them before).
