Santa came this morning, it's a fair while since I put any pictures on, so let's see if I can remember how.

Mystery package arrived today....

Sky Cloud Wood Tree Plant

What could it be?

Opening the box yields ......

Train Sky Cloud Vehicle Rolling stock

Yes, released between 1998 and 2000 it's the Roco museums edition of 'Lollo', V160 003, classic Ep3b and one of the first 9 locos produced in this form. These locos were the forerunner of what were to become classes 215, 216, 217 and 218 (not forgetting the ill-fated gas turbine boosted class 210).
Obviously the model is 2nd hand, but has seen little use, and it looks like the book hasn't been opened at all.

In it's full glory..

Train Sky Plant Cloud Ecoregion

Hope you like it...not bad for 180 AUD

I treated myself to a second Berg's Hobbies Sydney suburban double deck set, ths time the slightly later Comeng Mk 2 type. I have taken a video of the combined and mixed up units together in multiple (DCC consist). Also in the video are the Swedish Rc3 locomotive (again), and my bit of Christmas fun in the form of the European coaches and wagons hauled by a Hatton;s P class 0-6-0T (actually OO scale).

Note that the S sets both have Lenz Standard+ v.2 8-pin decoders fitted, but they were fighting each other in the video. I have since corrected that and matched them properly.

I have received this Roco 628.4 in with Bahnland Bayern design for my Continental Shelf layout.
The station is Faller's Schwarzburgn station which is in Thuringia rather than Bavaria but as Thuringia is not too far from Bavaria I don't think the architecture is too different to that in the town I am building.

David, that is a nice train. I have a bit of an interest in Diesel railcars and am always on the lookout for inspiration there.

Yes, the architecture will be quite similar between Bavaria and Thuringia, so your station shouldn't be out of place.

Babz, what glue do you use to assemble buildings? I have found that glue with a needle dispenser works really well, as you can apply really small doses without spills. I bought a stash of Faller super expert glue and it's absolutely fantastic.

I use liquid glues like MekPak (Slaters) or Butanone which is sometimes a bit too good at dissolving the plastic applied with a Slaters paintbrush sold for the purpose.

Credit for the roof goes to Faller as they come as one piece mouldings in the box.

Good Morning Everyone, Thank you for your Tips i use the Faller expert with the fine Tube but it still comes out to fast. I think i will give a brush a try. DWB Where can I get the brush you are Talking about and how do you keep it from going hard. All the kits that i have bought must be old stock as the roofs have to be glued together. I still enjoy building them. This Rhb Shunter with Massoth Sound decoder on board was my Birthday & Xmas Present from my Partner it is G Scale Babs

You can buy direct from Slater's website. This is the MekPak page - https://slatersplastikard.com/plastikard/mekpak.php.
I don't know if there is a minimum order value.
The glue does not stick the brush hairs together. They come 'free' with gentle rubbing between finger and thumb when you start a new session.

The latest Euro arrival on Newton Broadway is a set of three Roco DB double deck coaches with the smaller doors in the lower deck positions. These were originally from Hobby Trade in Denmark, and are the correct variants for what I want in making a DSB set. I had previously managed to get hold of a driving trailer in DSB colours (an original Hobby Trade release) but had been unable to get any matching trailers to go with it ... until now. The Roco sets sold out very quickly, so I was getting worried when the set ordered on the 9th November last year and posted by Modellbahnshop-Lippe on 10th had disappeared from the DHL tracking after getting to a German port. The parcel suddenly appeared out of a dimensional hole in the space-time continuum today, and materialised on my doorstep.

Reluctant as I am to lose the lovely finish of the DB livery, these will eventually be repainted into DSB livery to match the driving car. I have posed the set here with the locomotive that will be allocated to it for most of the time I run it, a DSB ME class, number 1506 (also a Hobby Trade product).

Sr Man Very nice set of Double Deckers indeed. There was a company when I visited Intermodellbau in Dortmund a few years ago that only made DSB stock at this moment in time i cannot remember who it was. Grey matter and age thing
DHL really did blot there copy book in December i had an order go of the Tracking 1 day after it was collected i had a deadline of the 23 of December for various reasons. And the worst bit is you cannot communicate with them There was so many people on Facebook venting there anger of parcels going missing or not been delivered including many people in Germany miraculously mine turned up on the 31st without even an explanation or an apology.I think it was a deliberate act to the Uk as yet they have not even restarted road transport to UK. But they are still flying in out if UK from Leipzig there main hub even when they said the border was closed from France to Uk They were still flying in to all hubs in UK. Shambles

I asked MSL to chase up DHL, which they did, but they also asked me to try from my end. I ran into a brick wall, ending up on the German DHL website with a form that would not translate from German to English, making it impossible for me to fill in.

If you do remember that shop specialising in DSB stuff, please let me know, Babz.

That's a nice set of doubledeckers, SRMan. Looks like you'll have your work cut out for you, if you want to repaint them.

Next time you have issues with a German website, feel free to reach out to me, German is my first language and I'll be happy to help.

Don't worry SRman, it's just Australia Post.
Normally, all DHL can do, whether from Kramm, Schmidt, Lippe or whoever, is get it to Frankfurt Airport, and anytime you can use their tracking and it gets you that far. After this time it's nothing to do with them, but the receiving distributor, and normally with DHL their partner is Australia Post. This is your brick wall.
Australia Post like to put a dent in the box sometimes.
Like Alex, I too can help out if necessary....(I am closer !!

Thank you both for the explanations and for the very kind offers of assistance with German translations. I am slowly picking up bits of German, and Danish for that matter. I can understand a lot of French (not so good at speaking it, though), but I don't have that much interest in the French railways.

Alex, I am not relishing the thought of repainting, especially as the finish on them is so nice to start with, but they were bought with the repaints in mind. My biggest problem is finding a grey light enough to match the DSB colour, but at least I have the driving trailer to assess colour matches with. Trying to find the original Hobby Trade DSB models is like looking for a polar bear in the Simpson Desert!

I've already posted about this acquisition, but last night I finally managed to get it set up. It's stretching its legs on my interim layout now.

I was a bit apprehensive, since I had heard of models from this production run to have a propensity for running noise (gearboxes, I think). But to my relief, my trains runs smoothly and quietly.
