Hi Everyone This is my Belated 66 th Birthday present from my Partner. It left Switzerland on the 22nd of July and has been in Customs since the 28thDocuments & Emails have been going back and Forward to the Agent of Parcelforce for HMRC.
It has been very stressfull indeed . I have no idea when i will receive it.

New addition to my Australian fleet:

This is a New South Wales X200 Rail tractor. These were built in the 1960s for shunting duties, but have also been seen on main line services.
The model is by IDR Models, it's my second X200. Due to their small size and weight, the locos are very susceptible to power loss on track that's not 100% clean, so I had the manufacturer upgrade both of them with a decoder and keepalive, with which they run beautifully. The upgrade procedure is described online, but the loco is so small that I'd rather not do such an upgrade myself.

A PKP restaurant car from ACME which resembles an example seen in a youtube video of a Nice - Moscow sleeper train leaving Nice. These trains were routed via the Brenner Pass hence my interest. I placed a reservation for this model early last year and it has just come into stock.
The sleeping cars are by LS Models. Unfortunately I was only able to get one set of three.

Just looked it up again on MSL and see what you mean at 77 Euro which is a bit higher than the 60 to 70 for most single deck 303mm long models. I did get this hit on a forthcoming Roco model which looks similar and priced at 69.90. I guess they might cost a bit more in that the body moulding is unique so will sell fewer units to recoup the tooling cost.
If you really want a budget model I got a hit on a Roco model for 34.90 but at 1:100 scale rather than 1:87 there's less raw material to pay for
.As for worth it? For reproducing a Moscow-Nice train where the PKP restaurant car sticks out like a sore thumb in among those distinctive sleepers, absolutely. Now at least I have a four coach train rather than a three.
Although if I'd had the option of the Roco I'd have taken it instead.
There is a lot of detail in the coach, a bag with a lot of extra bits and the printing on the coach side is neat and clear.
If you want scary prices, check out what Roco are asking for IC2020 bilevel control cabs! At Euro 180, I suspect that the second hand value of our IC2000 bilevel cab coach might be more than we paid for it - about £60 at the time.
Everything I have seen reported about current RTR production of Australian prototype models is that the method is exactly as elsewhere in the developed world, the manufacturing is in China, using the slew of factories that deliver pretty much all North American, much European, and nearly all UK productions.
It's never been cheap in Oz, because of the smaller market size, here's a fine example.

That's my memory malfunctioning about the identity in that case! The story died within weeks, and there's not much to quickly find on line about it now...
