Hi again,

This ones for you Peter. (hope I can post the pictures the first time)

The "Skyliners " all originated from the USA ( Vulcan Iron Works )
88 of them was in service in TCDD (Turkish State Railways) in 1948.
They weight 110,6 mtons
had a speed of 70 km/hr max
Length : 21.8 meters

You have just made my day!!!!!!!

They really are fantastic looking engines. its amazing what a huge difference tot he looks that little streamlined fairing makes.

For those of you who dont know. Vuncan foundry (USA) built about 80 of these for turkish railways. they worked along side a huge variety of loco's from german Kreigsloks to LMS/WD 8F's.

I would dearly love to do a model.

Thay are fantastic pictures too. some great shots for detail too.

They were really the last big US steam in regular use.

Where were the pictures taken?

Oah i wish i was there with a tape measure!!

OOOps ,

Sorry first time picture posting seems a bit large!

Anyway glad you liked them.As I've said the pictures were taken at a place called "Camlik" in the west part of Turkey.
It's Europes largest open air steam loco museum.80 odd locos on display. A cattle of British,German,USA ,KPEV..etc.
If you are into it I can post more Peter.
