*** They are all mains Irons. The only one that should be considered is the XS25 - it is an excellent Iron at a low price. The others are too small or too big for our needs.

I made an offer on the XS25 and got it for £10.00 + 2.00 postage considering a new tip is around £3.50 not bad,

***Well done - its a nice small Iron phsycally and it feels good to hold, so you will be able to do good work with it.

It usually comes with the best tip for MR (a small chisel type) but if not, do get one as you'll need the larger surface area for rail soldering. The sharp part/edge of the chisel tip is perfect for DCC installation, so its the best of both worlds

Hi Richard,

Yes i've used the XS25 for a while now i bought the one here as a spare (just my luck for the iron to go when all the shops are closed) i use the chisel tip for decoders and a slightly larger one side angled tip for track work.
