Spares for old (or any) models

I am trying to fix up some old models some of which are hard to find either parts or service sheets etc. Though, I can usually work out which bits go where on the model, it is difficult to get spare parts. I have a real nice old Liliput steam shunter (probably based on an OBB Austrian shunter) but the valve gear is missing on one side. I think I have been able to upload a photo (not mine and was used by the seller to advertise the item).

It is missing valve gear on one side and a motor. It has some lovely internal circuits and has lights in the front and back. The back ones shine out through holes where lanterns are placed. It is a beautifully made model. I will try to upload some of my own photos once I find the lead for my camera (probably missing due to the upheaval in the house due to nesting and awiating a new addition i.e bábóg, little bambino)

If anyone knows of some way to

get Liliput service sheets and spare parts

can they let me know. I do not want to spread commercialism but a few pointers to suppliers etc would be helpful. I would of course prefer to buy direct from the manufacturer but this may not be possible.

I have managed to get contact with Bachmann spares (and hope to get parts as easily as some Hornby stuff). I have sent an order a few days ago and am awaiting a reply. I did get an email back from their service department after about a week which is good sign with a request to send a list of requirements.. I have sent off for spare parts for a project rebuilding a patriot class Bachmann (Nameplate Western Australia R/No. 45568). I have my fingers crossed.

Since the content has a strong Continental flavour, I've moved it to HO & International to see if there's a better chance of someone here knowing.

I've tidied up the "empty posts" as well

Basil,

The model is of a Liliput (WIEN) 3350 Swiss Dampflok 'Tigerli'
The last product model was Bachman Liliput L103324 Tenderlok Feldschlösschen Tigerli. but do not know if the spec on this model has changed.

Hope this points you in the right direction.

Liliput Germany Used to have service sheets as downloads on there website, just checked but they have stopped this service, shame
!

Go to Bachman uk, I have always found them willing to help if they can.

David,

Many thanks for that. I checked the Liliput site and the nearest I could get was the L131390 Tenderlokomotive, Baureihe E4/4, Nr. 8853, SBB, Epoche II but this was more modern (and new)

I will get on to Bachmann as you have suggested. I have already been on to them and perhaps they may be able to help.

I will post updates as and when I get them.

regards

Basil

Your website is quite amazing and I hope to have some time to do this. I work on 1:1 scale so don't get much time at the moment.

I will watch your website with interest

No reply yet from Bachmann UK. Is there anyone out there. Looks like I will have to harvest spare parts from ol locos or chasises. I am already looking on e bay

I have contacted Bachmann again.

Maybe I'll try the continentals, they may be more eagr to help.

I suspect there's not much money to be made from spare parts

Hi Basil,

Sorry to see that you have had no joy

It sounds as though Ebay will be your best bet.

Keep us posted.

Part of the fun for me is in the looking. E bay and anyone who has any leads, take note.

Many thanks, and these look like the place (virtual world) where I might get some spare parts.

I will have to brush up on my german as this site is auf Deutsch.
