Apologies for bothering you all but I am currently in the process of building two Parkside Dundas PMVs and one CCT from the same supplier, all of Southern or BR (S) (in the case of the CCT, which is plywood bodied) extraction. I am about to fit the roof vents but searches on Fotopic reveal shots where there are no roof vents present (e.g. http://gallery6801.fotopic.net/p46201310.html and http://gallery6801.fotopic.net/p46201311.html). So, am I simply going blind through staring at computer screens endlessly or am I right in thinking that several PMVs and CCTs ended up without them? Were batches of them built without roof vents (excepting the "plastic" Bulleid vehicles, which I'm not modelling!)?

QUOTE (mikeg @ 3 Jul 2008, 15:39) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I think most SR vans were built with them on, but BR took most off when repairs were carried out, so either can be right but you do need to have a photo with the number on to get it right.

Thanks, Mike, that confirms my suspicions. I shall build to the photographs (actually, not having to drill the holes saves me a job, too!).
