Please find details of the forthcoming exhibition organised by the Chiltern Model Railway Association.

St Albans Model Railway Exhibition 2008

The Alban Arena,
Civic Centre,
St Albans,
Hertfordshire

Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th January 2008


There will be more than twenty good quality working model railway layouts with a well balanced coverage of scales, gauges and prototypes. A wide selection of specialist and general trades will be present together with demonstrations, static exhibits and society stands.

Refreshments and a licensed bar will be available.

Layouts booked to attend include:

Bramble Bottom (10mm/ft NG),

Nugatory Basin (0n16.5),
Napier Valley Railroad (0n30),
Pempoul (1:50 scale NG),
Grove Ferry Junction (S),
Clarendon (P4),
Foxup (P4),
Mostyn (P4),
Newham Goods (P4),
Alkham (EM),
Ackthorpe (00),
Spellbrook Crossing (00),
Cuba Mainline (H0),
Flockburgh (3mm/ft finescale),
Welton Down (2mm/ft finescale),
and many more.

Open Saturday 10am to 6pm - Sunday 10am to 5pm

Adults £5 - Children £2.50 - Family ticket £12.50 covering two adults with up to four children

Please note that the exhibition uses three floors of the venue with only one floor accessible without using flights of steps. Free entrance for people with critically impaired mobility.

The Arena is in the centre of the City and is adjacent to the shopping centre and Saturday market. Roman Verulamium and St Albans Abbey are close by. The Arena is well served by car parks which are free on Sundays. Trains to the Abbey station from Watford Junction on the Premier Line - London (Euston) and all points north. Trains to the City station from Brighton, Gatwick and London (Kings Cross/St Pancras) connecting St Albans, Harpenden, Luton, Bedford and the East Midlands. A free regular vintage bus service will be in operation between the Alban Arena and the Abbey and City train stations on both days of the exhibition.

Thanks for the further detail. I had put this event on the Forum events calender several months ago, but did not have all the information available. I'll put a link in to this posting.
Do you know if the Oaklands college carpark is still available, particularly on the Saturday?
