Does anybody know if there is a N Gauge Stroudley Terrier available - I dont think there is i have extensively checked and havent found one yet, but thought i would ask as i always manage to miss the glaringly obvious!! If not then i am already about a third of the way through scratch building 5 for my Newhaven Harbour ( east Sussex ) layout .

None, I'm pretty sure. There was a sratchbuilt one shown in the Railway Modeller around 1980 using Beaver wheels IIRC. I guess Beaver wheels dates the article, somewhat!
Good luck - at least there's more choice of motors these days.

I have a 6" gauge model Stroudley Terrier which I believe was built in late 19th Century as it has boxwood brakes. The engine was a working model, akthough needs restoration now. I have just posted an article on it:

If anyone can help me trace the history of the modellers and why it was 6" gauge, would be very helpful so we can decide whether to keep, restore or sell...

Nikki started that topic in 2008 - it's the usual case, you get frustrated by the lack of a model, spend hours scratch-building a beautiful version and then some
manufacturer brings it out within months!
