You're still better off than we are in Australia. If I subscribe I pay twice as much as I would out the newsagent. But if I buy from the newsagent I get a two month old copy. It is possible to buy a new copy from some of the model rail shops but at twice the price as it has been airfreighted in.

This is a bit of a pain when there are competitions as they have always expired by the time you get your magazine.

Thats still better than here. I pay $20 at Branchline in Melbourne for the latest one. Although having said that I notice that older ones are still selling there at $20. I don't know who they think is going to pay that when you can get it from the newsagent for $10 when its two months old.

I tend to buy the two month old ones unless I know there's something like a competition happening.

Theres quite a few newsagents in Melbourne stock them. They are also available from some model rail shops. I tend to try the bigger newsagents in the shopping malls as they are more likely to have it. They usually have Model Railroader, Railway modeller, British Railway Modelling, Model Rail and Continental Modeller in that order of availability. I have found some of these in Brisbane too. The first four anyway. Some city centre newsagents and specialist shops have them too.

I don't remember looking when I was in Perth but I'll be warned to bring it with me now! I found the local corner shop places a lost cause.

I see The Railway Modeller international subscription is 55.20quid regardless of whether you are in Spain or Australia. This is a bit rough when you consider the difference in postal charges. In Australia you can get 2 month old copies out the newagent for the equivalent of 4 pounds
I had thought I was saving myself a substantial amount by buying these rather than forking out for a subscription. Having just checked with the calculator I am only saving myself a fiver which is not worth the two month delay. I may take out a subscription now.
