Ian Allan did a 'Railway World Special' on the Swanage Branch in 1987 (ISBN 0 7110 1618 6). Author was Andrew P M Wright. I picked up a copy for about £3 at the Transport and Military Bookshop in Falconwood, SE London about 5 years ago. This has track plans of both Swanage in 1945 and Corfe Castle in 1956, as well as a map of the whole line showing the local tramways serving various works on the Isle of Purbeck.
There is much useful information on the line and its history, before and after closure and of the early restoration days.
I was fortunate to have a couple of family holidays in Swanage in my early teens when the branch was still steam operated, not of course that I paid it a great deal of attention then!

Ormsby Hall, a National Trust property near Middlesborough, on Tees-side, has an excellent model of Corfe Castle station - this was featured in either British Railway Modelling or Model Rail in the past 12 months.

I think the sketch plan on page 13 of the Ian Allan Special is in proportion if not to a particular scale. If you can get a map of Swanage, you could try copying the sketch, preferably onto copier OHP film, and overlay onto the map. Vary the 'zoom' on the copier until the roads in the sketch line up with the map.

The Special also has plenty of photos with Mk1 coaches in. You could use the length of these to estimate the lengths of the platforms and hence the size of the station.

Mike g,
Re the bay crossover, I haven't seen the Middleton book so I don't know which years they show. The 1945 plan shown in the Ian Allan Special book I mentioned above shows this still in place at that date.
