The gi-normous model railway in Hamburg have had a new "Switzerland" section inaugurated by the Swiss ambassador.

I'm sure this model has been discussed before. There's a short video available in the MultiMedia section of www.swissinfo.org. Look for the "Mini Swiss" item. Parents or guardians should be aware that part of the video features a couple of pop concert goers taking "time out" together in the bushes.

Here's the description from the Video cilp
QUOTE Mini Switzerland in Hamburg
  • Miniature Wonderland Hamburg in Germany is the largest model railway in the world. Spread over 250 square metres, the model of Switzerland is the exhibition's latest highlight. (SF1)

That's got to be a 'must see' for any modeller in or visiting Germany.

Aside from the Swiss addition, is the rest Germany?

No, I'm aware of at the least, Norwegian and Danish areas. These were shown in the Trix Profi club dvd this year and they are pretty spectacular. Scale size container ships and suspension bridges. Pretty awesome stuff.
