You don't have to adjust the contact plates on the motor. They are set about fine.

The trouble is that the Lenz controller is giving a short pulse. The Tillig motor needs a constant current until the motor gets to the other side when everything cuts and reverses. It prevents the same polarity from connecting to the motor again to prevent burnout and only accepts a reverse polarity to send the motor off in the opposite direction.

The reason it starts and then stops is that certain terminal contacts are broken when the motor is moving. It needs to get to the other side.

There is an adaptor for Lenz decoders, look out for the LA010 (http://www.lenz.com/products/decoders/accessory/la010.htm). Not sure it works with the LS150 though.

I have mine at the factory set distances and they work fine. I use them with Tillig Code 83 points and Peco Code 100 points.

After playing with DCC control, I prefer to have a local control panel that has throw switches controlling the points.

Sure, if you want to automate the layout and add computer control, you need stationary decoders to control the points.
