just been on the BBC news web site and seen the result of many years and a lot of money. It's great. Interestingly they asked whether it is carbon frendly, well no not really but then if it pulls a train from London to York with 6 coaches with 150 in each coach then it is in comparison with all the cars that might have been used.

More info on www.martynbane.co.uk/modernsteam/ldp/60163/60163.htm and www.a1steam.com/

on the first site above it says that it should run at 120 mph and be 60% more powerful than the predestor A1, so does that mean that with modern technology etc that Mallards steam record could be broken in the future.

I saw the pictures that were on the frontpage of sky news and it does look impressive. I do hope it has a good future and well done to the Darlington crew for the effort and I hope the running in at GCR goes well.

Has a full page with several excellent photos in today's 'Daily Mail' - remarkable publicity.
Again my congrats to all involved.

This project proved the doubters wrong, and so too will the Wisbech & March Bramley Line when they start running trains. See www.bramleyline.org.uk

As one who initially had my doubts about the project I have to say it was nice to be proved wrong. What an impressive piece of work. I hope to see it in action one day.

Regards
