Train horns

I am refurbishing a 7 1/4" gauge model of a Canadian diesel shunter. It was fitted with a standard 12v car horn, which has failed. Real train horns are lots of money, but lorry-type multi-tone air horns are plentiful and a reasonable price. Does anyone know if any of these horns sound anything like a real train?

No idea but I have a couple of suggestions:

1) Have a look around youtube for videos of similar diesels and some lorry horns.
2) Ask the guys at Rapido. They make no secret of their obsession with trains so they might have an answer.
