Traing tt sets

2217 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  7113
I have a range of traing tt train sets, track, signals etc. most of which are in the original boxes. These must have been presents to my father, in the 1960s. I am keen to see if these are of value. So i was wondering if there are any specialist dealers I could contact in Ireland, or in the uk.
Thanks

Its best to have a look at specialist auction houses such as www.vectis.co.uk who hold auctions at Rugby every 2 months and who archive auction results for reference. They do have TT going through from time to time. You can always set a reserve against any valuations they make for your collection.

They do take 20% commision (incl VAT) though from sellers.

It is a specialised area and I'm not too sure that there are actually any dedicated Triang TT dealers. I'm not convinced that normal stockists who buy in secondhand kit would make a sensible offer.

Miles Rowland at the Tri-ang Society may also be able to help.

Strangely enough I was chatting to a guy at my local show this weekend, I can't remember his name, but I can remember a couple of prices as follows: unboxed Merchant Navy - £75.00, unboxed class 31 £40.00, unboxed coaches £6.00 - £8.00, I will look his details up and post again, I need to see him as I need to buy some signals from him.

John
And then there's the Tri-ang collectors club.
