The TEEM was introduced at the timetable change in 1961 as the first European cross-border goods train for express goods.
The TEEM system required goods trains to travel at a uniform maximum speed of 100 km/h.
To ensure this, the trains were limited in length (max. tonnage).

David, being selfish and reflecting my principal interest I would appreciate if your researches strayed into cross border freight and passenger consists between West and East Germany. No pressure.
