Airfix (MRRC) and others did make 5 pole motors that were a direct replacement for the 3 pole X.04 type motors.QUOTE (tiebar @ 7 Aug 2008, 21:37) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Most of my locos are Triang and are powered by , I assume, the X03 motor but I have to admit that I don't know the difference between this and the X04!!
Is it still possible to get spares for these motors and if so where. Any help appreciated.

Thank you to all for replies. The "Model-net.co.uk " people are reorganising and hope to re-stock in the near future.
I am sure that somewhere I have seen reference to a 5 pole armature for the X03 / X04 : quite an improvement in performance but perhaps I'm just dreaming.

These are now only available on the used, or old stock market…
Some more info on Tri-ang and early Hornby Railways open frame motors here….

Hi all, Can any one tell me what the difference is between these 2 motors. If there is any ?
