Twickenham & District MRC has continued to provide information, entertainment and support to its members during 2020 despite our clubrooms being closed due to the pandemic.

Our club, like many other clubs, has had its major fund-raising events of 2020 cancelled due to the pandemic. This has somewhat left a hole in our annual budget, but we are fighting back by selling donated models on ebay. Our members have been generous, but that supply chain has now dried up and we are reaching out to the wider modelling community.

Do YOU have any unwanted models (or toy trains) which you would be prepared to donate to Twickenham club to help us though these difficult times. We can arrange collection across a wide area of London and the South East and any item will go towards helping to keep the club afloat until we can once again welcome you to our Open Days and exhibitions.

We thank you for looking at this post and thank you in advance for any help you can give us.

Please contact us at [email protected]

THANK YOU

As part of Twickenham & District MRC's fightback we have launched a brand new monthly club magazine using a name from the past - Single Line Working (SLW).

A few years back the club dropped the original bi-monthly SLW in favour of ad hoc layout group newsletters which concentrated on layout updates and were sent out only to members/supporters of each particular layout team. This was great up to a point, but the frequency of these newsletters depended very much on how much news each layout generated - some groups published once a month, others once a year.

NOT ANY MORE! We now have a regular monthly magazine that covers all layouts, all club committee news and is designed to bind the club together in these difficult times. It is designed to inform, educate and amuse and it has been such a great success with members that we have decided to offer a FREE trial subscription of our new SLW to any potential members and any other interested parties.

To be honest, with our clubrooms closed at the moment this is, in effect, a FREE trial club membership. So, if you live in SW London and are thinking of joining a club then why not take advantage of our FREE trial offer.

Just email us on [email protected] and we will send you the new SLW around the 1st of every month until our regular Friday night meeting can re-start and which time we will invite you down to a special 're-launch' Open Evening where you can meet us in person.

In fact, in addition, we will send you all back issues from our #1 issue in December 2020 - so don't miss out, email us today!
