Nice collection of helicopters, but I couldn't see any model railway couplings!
If it is the Alex Jackson coupling there are some interesting developments being reported elsewhere http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php...jackson#p580440 regarding an etched jig to make the manufacture easier, and I believe that someone else has produced a jig for locating uniformly.
There's no reason why they cannot be used on modern stock, searching on the same website comes up with several examples of that genre. AFAIK there is also no reason why they cannot be used on OO stock, unless you are using smaller radius curves and coarser wheels - the problem is the need to limit side play, as the contact width of the two couplings as they approach each other is fairly small - so fine scale wheels at the correct BTB and reasonable curves should work.
