Uploading Phots to Members Gallery

I tied to upload a photo and got the following error message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 6400 bytes) in /home/modelrai/public_html/forums/sources/components_public/gallery/lib/lib_image.php on line 426.

I assume this means my photo was too big - how can I rectify this and then be able to post photos?

There are actually two restrictions on the size of photos which can be uploaded to the member's gallery
  • An absolute file size of 2M bytes. It is unusual to breach this with most standard quality image settings
  • A image pixel limit which appears to be of the order of about 3M Pixels. I'm not quite sure where it is.
Similar limits also apply to attachments.

My solution to this problem is to resize the images in Paint and use save as JPEG to store the reduced size.

Hope this helps

David

In case anyone tries the "Paint" approach and can't find the resize or save as JPEG option then maybe one or both options came with the Vista version.
