Want your 12 seconds of fame?

Guys

Really need your help here. Now I am looking for a couple of people with English Scottish and Welsh accents, to make some recordings for me. As I have an Irish/Australian accent I cannot do it. So whats it all for? Simple really I want to add more station announcements to the loksound decoder.

Ok what I would like is

Some Modern stuff
BR
and the big 4.
The need to be anywhere from 4-12 seconds long, you can do as many as you like if you want.

It may go like "1245pm Silver Jubilee departing in 5 minutes on platform 1" or something as simple as "all aboard" and so on. To be honest most of you will know a lot more about this than me.

So if your interested let me know and even if your not give me some pointers. I really need it.

So who wants to be famous? You never know you might be at a show 2 years from now and hear yourself saying".........." now that's worth bragging to your mates about!

Thanks guys

Martin

Frame - you sound perfect - the whole idea behind BR announcements is to confuse the crap out of the passengers - that way they cant say they were not informed that the trains were running late.

May i suggest a range of 'You train is delayed because... ' announcements?
The train now appoaching platforms 1,2,3 and 4 is coming in sideways

Or how about.
" British rail would like to apologize for the lateness of the 6.45 london bridge service. The lateness is caused by the wrong kind of snow on the line"

Hi

I was hoping you would record it and send via email in wav format. Ahh you just cannot beat the real accents.

Come on guys dont be shy if you want I wont even mention who it is from. It is for a good cause for the guys who like sound.

Aussies welcome too.

What types of locos are these for? It would help to choose journeys for them.

"The next train on platform 2 is the 0925 to London Paddington, calling at Newbury, Reading and London Paddington only. British Rail would like to remind you that some are born great, some achieve greatness, while some have greatness thrust upon them"

Hi Fishplate

All types really but what does interest me is steam. As I have never traveled steam in the UK and I have 0% exposure to announcements except what I have seen on B&W movies.

The Silver Jubilee really interests me along with most of the pacific routes. It is a way of building up announcements and at least having something that suits that area. Their is plenty of space on a loksound so why not use it.

Ok For example where would that have being used? But thats what I am looking for. Even thats fine, static can be added like the old PA systems and you have an old announcement.

Are you interested in doing that anyone want to put other suggestions forward.

Thanks for that Fishplate I think you got the ball rolling.

Cheers

For my sins I have, under restoration, an old BR(SR) station tannoy, now if I can hook up the appropriate bits I can recreate the traditional baffling announcements!
