Well its fastly getting round to that time of year again. Who would think its been nearly twelve months since the last one. And what a good year its been, two of us got married (that I know of, Pedro & myself) lots of new members, new mods, a new A1 on the big railway too!

So I will be the first to start the charge for the Bachmann scrum, who is planning on going? Arethusa and me already have our tickets for both days, does anyone want to have a meet up again this year? I have already started to place orders for collection at the show.

Hi Brian
I am a new member and i also have the tickets already for the one day, I have also got married since last year although i never got to go last year as my line manager wouldn't allow my holiday (although i had the tickets!).
Needless to say i dont work there anymore!!.

Anyway enough of that i am really looking forward to this year and must sit down and compile my wish list for the show.
Does Bachmann still do the secondhand/returned stock sell off on one of the corners of there stand do you or anyone know? I've had some good bargains from that stall in the past.

Kind regards

Paul

i really has been a whirlwind of a year.

it still hasnt settled in that i am a married man! i have a wife!! and a stepdoughter!!

i really dont know what i will be buying this year. there isnt anything that i really must have. i will get some paint. mabye some detailing stuff. i will have another look at the russian railway society stand and see what resin shells they have got. i would love a T9 but i have had to cancel my order. its just too much money at the moment. i have a feeling this christmas is going to be an expensive one and i think i wil need the money.

I know what you mean Peter i have a wife and a stepdaughter to (14 going on 24!!)

Yes i think you are right about one thing our money doesn't seem to stretch as much at the moment, I have recently purchased the Bachmann G2 and what a lovely model it is to.

I will probably look for a cheap class 47 lima chassis so i can do my LMS 10000 kit.
I can only afford the one day as my wife comes with me aswell although i am very happy that she comes with me and supports my hobby she never moans at me spending my money bless her!.

Paul

Hope they'll be able to give some more info for the 4CEP delivery date, Brian... if we're lucky

I'm in two minds about going. With visiting three or four big shows each year, the layouts are starting to repeat themselves one way or another. It's a 200 mile round trip and even at 64 miles per diesel gallon that's another cost; and yes we did go to Folkestone which is actually slightly further but a walk around the lake at the NEC is not in the same league as the sea front / harbour even if it is raining and I don't think there's a chippy at the NEC either. Then there's the cost of the car parking....

There's nothing much on my "must buy" list from the cottage industry side of the business either so I'm just not sure. Maybe four dull grey rainy weekends before that will change our minds and we'll go to cheer ourselves up.

As for household changes, my older two kids have moved out; my son has even managed to take all his stuff but his sister hasn't....

Hi Neil
I will definitely be taking some pitures so i will post a few on this topic or maybe start a new one just for the Warley show for other people to add pictures if thet want to.
Do you have any preferences of layout type/era etc Neil.

Being new to the hobby I have never been to Warley.

We are going on Saturday but as we are travelling by train won't be there until about 11 a.m. I model in OO Southern about 1960 with DCC - can anyone give me suggestions on where we should concentrate our limited time.
A friend and I are flying down from Aberdeen, staying with friends in Brum and going both days. I had been hoping to get a stub axle for a Fleischmann tender but Fleischmann UlK say they can't get any parts any more. I'm hoping the TCS decoders Bromsgrove are waiting for from USA will be there by then. I want to pester them about DCC and see if the Dynamis points controller is there to check it out. I want to speak to Mark Hughes at the TLRS stand about the Aberdeen Streamliner tram he is bringing out, (I saw the master at the National Model Tramway Festival in Manchester earlier this summer), to the Russian Railway Society about when we can expect another Newsletter and to the British 1:87 Society about their chassis kits. And the second hand stalls. God only knows when I will find time for all this mind you.

Not really Paul, I am more interested in the best made and presented layouts regardless of era. You can always get some good ideas for your own layout and how to improve it. If Jacq Damen is at Warley this year you would be well advised to have a look at his layout. I believe Tin Hales Grafenwalde layout will be there too. It's very good.
Many thanks for the offer Brian, I will email you as soon as I can get the loco back from a friend I have given it to. He put the TCS decoder in it with his Lenz system using a computer but when he took it over here Friday it just would not run at all using my Dynamis set-up. He has now taken both the loco and the Dynamis back to his house to check thru everything. When I get it back I will get as much info on the axle as possible and email you directly. Again many thanks.

Is Warley still being held SAT/SUN - 22nd/23rd November at the NEC?

I have a flyer advertising it as such but someone told me they'd heard the dates and venue had been changed. (Think she's also hidden my credit card).

Can someone confirm please.

Mike
