the Victory should be under going a major upgrade in appearance, and next time I post I'll include some of the current point work. also I'm trying to find the time to convert all my stock to Dingham couplers
enjoy.

thanks Rob,
I've been out of action for a while.

Progress on the pump house has been slower than anticipated. But it's starting to come together. I tried a new technique (for me) and coated the exterior (where visable with Das) and then carved some stones with an exacto blade I've found them to be best. A quick spray with Halford grey primer and some touching up with stone colour. "like sleeper grime "
the result is highly effective..
tomorrow I'll be concentrating on the Beam engine bit before I build the extension (Mechanics workshop) and some walling. Of course there will be a wooded gantry around the beam for the mechanic's to go up and lubricate it. I now wish I'd done my other mine buildings with the Das method.-----------Bugger !

Das' progress for you. You try something new to yourself and discover that other previous methods might not have been quite as good. However, the condolence is that future projects will benefit, Das' a good thing and to be celebrated - by all of us including your readers. Das' a positive method we might all try. I guess Das' why so many of modellers are members of the Forum and would thank you for posting Das information.

I guess Das' enough rubbish pun attempts and Das' why I will cease now.

Grabs hat, coat and heads for the door ...

Kind regards

Julian

Sitting here chuckling at that Julian..

Das' a very good series of puns indeed and das' because it is based on facts I suppose. in fact, das' the first time in a while I have seen such a comically loaded post.

What is that porky pig always used to say at the end of a Looney toons cartoon? "Das' all folks"?
Das' some wonderful progress right there.

Looking forwatd to how das' going to look in position now..
but not yet I still have some moelling to do on the pumphouse.

At last the pump house is off my work bench. It still needs some finishing touches.

It looks good in that position MMD and the colouring is nicely balanced with the other buildings too.

Kind regards

Julian
thanks Julian, I still need to construct the maintence walkway for the beam engine and I'll Move the chimney and Das the other side.

Work on the mine pump house is almost complete. It needs some figures, so I've ordered an oiler and a foreman to complete the scene.
Work should commence on the screens shortly, wit the associated mining tubs, pit ponies, and miners etc I must say I've enjoyed building this.

Nice one MMD, I 'specially like the tin roof.

I've been beavering away for quite a few weeks. I got side tracked and had to quickly glue down the ply used to mount my town on as this started to distort. I took the chance to lay some cobbled road surface at the same time. I'm sure this will feature in the future as I have a lot of buildings and detail to add in that area.
So the last week I've been building my screens for Liberty pit. Yes there really was a Liberty pit in south Bristol. It had a working life of around 35 years and its levels stretched many miles following a rich seam of coal.
The screen is constructed from 9 mm ply which I mainly machined on my band saw. The internal hopper is made from foamex. It should allow me to load empty wagon with coal using a couple of manual slides in the back of the screens (well that's the plan. Since the photo was taken I've added another layer of Blackness to the building and the brass railing.Funny how a flash photo often shows up what needs to be finished. The Stauctions came from Cornwall boats I recommend their service.
I should have bent the brass wire before fitting but I didn't and re-threading the wire was difficult it's so fine.

The winding house is now almost complete, needs to be placed on the layout, and the winch cable connected over the sheaves.
