I'm Martin and getting into this again after an almost 20 year gap. The last time was when I was in my teens and built an exhibition layout with my dad.
I'm an ex-pat in Seattle - six years in the US after living in Nottingham - and strangely I'm planning on modelling Epoch IV DB diesel. Something strange there. My Dad still has the trains at home in the UK - some are collectors items.
I'm planning to go straight in DCC and pinch the best bits of my dads collection
No early 80's Lima or Joeuf toys please Dad.
Just moved into a new house; lots of room - but t' missus is saying I can't have anything in the house. I'm venturing into the loft this weekend to see what I can do up there. Otherwise it's garage or loft.
As for buying stuff - I'm hurting with the dreadful dollar exchange rate...
Ah ha, it all makes sense now. Good to know your not planning to takeover the world.
I guess that's why you're going straight to DCC. You probably want to think about computer control too. You are probably in a better position than most to utilise it and possibly improve on it.
