P2 is on my list in both forms, in the mean time, it's on with Patrick's #1

Unless it's Great Way Round Green, it's never going to be the right shade is it, despite BR taking it on as the passenger loco colour...

My wife would kill me if I bought that many. I've had problems just with the 25 I have and a new loco usually costs me another handbag or pair of shoes so it starts to get expensive.
I know exactly what you mean! My loco fleet is 15 locos, but is currently swollen to over 30 due to 'visiting' locos from other depots(borrowed from a friend who is building a new layout and doesn't have anywhere to run them), and I'm not allowed to buy more locos unless I buy her indoors something nice....

Chris, ever thought carefully about the word "nice"??
Re-arrange the letters and you get "Cien", some "Nice" shampoo/bodywash/whatever it is, or, you could even say you get "Ince" (Id-est "Ince" castle, the loco!!).
Could always buy her a pack of "Nice" biscuits (as in the ones called nice)...
Or of course there is "Cine"....... Literal interpretation is cinema, but could always be a weepy on DVD?
Multiple ways to interpret "Nice" my friend, multiple ways, some literal, some with a little lateral thought and rearrangement of letters.

After my lovely photographic assistant and I had finished filming Sir Herbert Walker and King George on post no. 620, we decided to experiment with our old camcorder (Sony)
to make a video for the forum.
Briefly was not the word, because it has taken us a week of spare time uploading and downloading and uploading again in an effort to get it from camcorder to windows movie maker and then to
Photobucket vids and then to youtube , but it would not transfer to forum because of an error.
I'm sure this can be done less stressfully and faster. So any tips from our more computer compatible members would be gratefully received.
FOOTNOTE 1.
We eventually , through the strenuous efforts of my lovely photographic and computer expert, we have now succeeded in our endeavors and it is shown below

Just as we were about to start filming, we discovered that the stars of the video would not budge.
My lovely photographic assistant ( and computer expert) obviously eager to obtain more Brownie points, suggested that a wire had come loose.
Sure enough a quick search revealed that a feedwire had come adrift and a quick solder job was called for.
However I soon found out that I needed another pair of hands and my close up spectacles to complete the exercise.
My lovely photographic assistant (and computer adviser) quickly volunteered her assistance. I gave her the solder iron, which she expertly flourished, dipping the end into the flux.
picking up a nice shinny blob of solder and transferring it on to the troublesome feedwireand track. Lo! and behold everything now worked.
As a consequence of her success she now wishes to do more soldering. If I agree than she will allow me to purchase another engine.

Simple answer? Buy your lovely assistant (who unless I have missed it we have not yet seen?) a kit loco and let her build it, whilst you treat yourself to a new loco too...

So much has changed. I wonder why it is always November when I am back on here commenting. If I am honest I must say that I have checked in every now and then to see how the blue bottles are growing (they seem to be thriving) and the growing train stud.
A P2 is a sight for many an eye. Always good to see more Apple Green and having seen a couple of those boats in the flesh now I do like the cut of their jib.
Anyway you should be grateful that you have not been to the UK lately as things have descended into dreadfully low levels of depravity, not only have I not done a thing to White Colne in nearly a year a recent neighbourhood watch email warned that there had been an incident of bakery rage in a local village. The report stated that a white van was seen driving along the main road to which a local person cried out they were going too fast and then took to throwing a stollen at the vehicle causing damage. I know the village well and have seen many a car there with a Madeira through their windscreen or the wheels taken and jacked up on fruit cake. We are not safe.
Any way many thanks and happy modelling.

Was aware of the post, although this is a build and conversion of a kitmaster Kit. Using parts of the Emily loco though as that is, it would seem, the easiest way forwards. That, and a part scratch built chassis.....
Taking my time and taking extreme care as it was the last loco my father purchased with intent to motorise it.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply - the disease is catching.
I can't explain why you only post in November, but as Walter Houston nearly sang once
"It's a long long time from now till November and the autumn leaves turn to gold"
I too keep looking in to see whether you have your A into G yet, and made progress on the 'White Colne' layout'
At one time I feared that you had been abducted by the Windsor chapter of the Berkshire flat earth society - fortunately not.
As for the 'baker's rage', I can see that this could be quite problematical, and it seems that those involved are just 'Plebs'
The nearest I have had to that was to have a salvo of eggs hurled from an oncoming vehicle. No damage and our girls even enjoyed the omelet for lunch.
If this bakers rage persists, I suggest you instal a 12 barrel rocket-launcher on the roof of your car and arm it with 12 of your Grannies rock cakes.
That should do the trick

I've always liked the look of the Ivatt 4F's, especially with double chimneys.

Very nice selection and taken with a camera that has a better flash than mine! The Ivatt class 4 really looks good but perhaps a bit too pristine, after all they were usually called 'mucky ducks' although sometimes 'doodlebugs' either way they got dirty.
