In spite of only half of the Goon Valley Railway being operative at the moment, we've decide to run a few train on the upper track mainline.
This is the figure of eight double track mainline, which goes under the house.

I always experience nervous anticipation on sending the first train through the tunnels. to have a derailment under the house would require a lot of effort to get it sorted.

So far (touch wood) all of the trains emerge safely, all-be- it covered in cobwebs.

So, through the auspices of my favourite photographer, we show some pictures taken at various vantage points through the fells.

Thanks for looking in. Best wishes.

When I looked in this morning I was surprised to see the Goon Valley thread at the foot of page one. Something had to be done to escape relegation down to the second division.I did not think that King Edward's bones would help , nor the offerings of a Buddhist High Priest so I resorted to making another post, this should shoot me right up to the top of the premier league.
So here it is , a couple of pictures taken by my ever faithful Kodak person showing that not every thing has ground to a halt on the Goon Valley Railway because of a few alterations. These are in fact progressing , all be it very slowly, and might be reported on shortly. My health and physical conditions don't help, but as someone once said the only way to go is onwards, and upwards

Both pictures were taken during the modifications to Eccles Junction . the first is a Tri-ang streamlined Duchess passing Ellington Shed . The second is a Wrenn 2-6-4T handrepainnted and lined by me a long time ago, so far back that I can't remember whether it is a Hornby-Dublo or a G and R Wrenn .

Congratulations to the Foxes, what a wonderful achievement .

We thought we could show some of our railway pictures , not works of art but most of them are quite historical. One thing they have in common---they were all taken by us , no cribs and no copy right to worry about.
The real live ones were taken by me over many years, and the models were taken by my regular photographic person(swmbo) on the Goon Valley Railway.

We hope you find something of interest. Thanks for looking in .

regards

Happy birthday Tony.

Gee, thanks mate .
Hi everybody. Long time since I last posted. I've been trying to see some of my pictures - from way back.
Suddenly my computer expert (SWMBO) has found them all on her computer.
May I request some kind member to check this forum (welcome to the GVR) - and let me know if you can see the pictures.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
