QUOTE (neil_s_wood @ 20 Jun 2007, 23:51) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>To be completely honest, I would happily spend 100 quid on a loco with a ficticious livery just to annoy the rivet counters. These people do more harm to the hobby than good. They seem to have forgotten that the hobby is about having fun rather than one upmanship.

Spot on !!

I fully concur with these thoughts Neil.

Its a HOBBY.......... how much thought /effort goes into a project is up to the individual, and their own circumstances.

Do it, enjoy it and first & foremost please yourself, ... if other's enjoy seeing what you do all the better and gives you encouragement and motivation... if they don't, well... tough !

This IS a HOBBY.. that through necessity has to have compromises... be it, skills, ideas, materials, costs and space... Above All ENJOY what YOU DO...

It's Therapy in this mad, sometimes sad, bad world...

ENJOY Model Railways...!! .................

Absolutely spot on for me too. This hobby is for enjoying and I really do have to train myself to refrain from inserting negative responses! It's not the 1st of January but I've got to give it a shot!

Sometimes it seems as if there is a race to be the first to point out a failing which I'd never have noticed in a month of Sundays.
Happy modelling everyone at whatever level appeals to you!

Well it's finished but now comes the rub, I took said item (coded 01.7013) to photograph it on St. Laurent. The photo came out but now seems to have disappeared into the depths of the gallery of DBC50. I think we may have to try again.

Yes it is your model, I quote from narrow gauge modeller's licence:
MODELLERS LICENCE

Rules

1. The builder of this railway is always right.

2. He built it, so it must have looked that way.

3. Any person disagreeing should refer to rules 1 and 2.

Rights appertaining under this licence

1. This licence gives the builder the absolute right to shorten, widen, lengthen, enlarge, reduce, increase or decrease any dimensions of any narrow gauge prototype, if such a thing exists.

2. Any colours or markings may be modified at the will of the builder. All legitimacy will be given to any item built under this licence and no comment or correspondence can be entered into nor the builder's decisions on these matters challenged.

3. Details may be added in any way chosen and are not subject to the opinion of so called "experts".

4. Chronological events may be altered, transposed or otherwise amended in order to maintain the character of this railway.
