The following coach picture is on the new Hornby website. It does not look like anything in current production and has "Southern" on the side. Any ideas what it is? :-
And are there any other "spots" that Hornby website visitors have made?
The loco in the background of the photo is,of course,the 'C' Class no.592 [as has already been mentioned],the same loco that's in my signature picture,which shows it when it was known as DS239 and was one of the Ashford Works shunters...

And you never did answer my supposition about this during the discussion on gasworks and trams
Have been having further thoughts about the date - have confirmed from Gould's book on Maunsell coaches that 6686 was outshopped initially on the Bluebell in May 1974. Whereas 592 in the background appears to be without its tender - probably because it was running behind the Dukedog (every time I went to the Bluebell in the early 70's I seemed to be hauled by the Dukedog coupled to the C class tender!). 592 entered traffic in 1975 so this definately dates the photo to 1974-5 - can anyone get a closer fix on the date?
