What would you like?

I've just been reading the thread about base toys cars which prompted me to recall the old Minix series (you know the ones with the silver wheels) roduced by Triang in the sixties. This led me to thinking wouldn't it be great if they could be reintroduced?

what other non rolling stock item would you like to see Hornby breathe new life into?

R408U Turntable as available mid 60s to 1974. A far better effort than the hideous disc thing we've got now.

Hornby Dublo engine sheds and terminal buildings to accompany it please.

Russell
am I wrong?

I always got the ''impression'' the Minix cars were not quite 4 mm scale.....1:72?

I have a Sunbeam Alpine...and it does look slightly under scale......maybe its me??
The Minic Motorway system? With DCC added it might even beat the Faller roadway system, although it does not look quite as good.

The return of the signal gantry, and frankly most of those play items like battle space, giraffe cars etc would be great. Kids need to be able to touch and I think although there are items for juniors they don't seem to be the same. Oh and while we are at it those Ford Sierras need replacing too!

I've just thought, the catenary system or substituted by the Electrotren one.

I've been looking at the Minic Motorwas website. Looks very interesting. I think they should bring back all of it, in an updated form of course.

That's an interesting thought - a few years ago at Nurnberg I saw a German company demostrating a system that used the same principles, unfortunatly I've lost the catalogue.
Poliss - thanks for that link - I hadn't thought to look for any website to do with the Minic system.

Now there's a thing I agree with the old shed buildings were lovely, and are quite difficult to find with the extension. The old Dublo terminus in art deco style was really something.

Yes, one of my friends has one of these on his layout and it looks great.
How about the Hornby Dublo electric semaphore signals, but with a much shallower base?

Colombo

Or even a 'through-the-baseboard' fit in some way?

The Ford Thomes van was exactly 1/76, I think one or two of the others wandered off slightly to one side or the other.

Is that what they are?

OK...................I'll go through the library and see what I can find.
